I am a retired Methodist minister presently serving St. Paul UMC and St. Francis Hospital as a chaplain. I am married to Sheila Davis Cooper and have Eddie and Charlotte as our children. Charlotte is married to Jason MacDonald and has Ellison and Emma, our granddaughters.
I attended Middle Georgia College in Cochran, Georgia Southern College in Statesboro, and Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta.
Since 1972, I have served churches across South Georgia: Pittman Park UMC in Statesboro, Crawford County Circuit, East Macon UMC, Christ UMC in Albany, Christ UMC in Warner Robins, Waycross First UMC, Central UMC in Fitzgerald, and St. Paul UMC in Columbus.
I have had the privilege of studying and visiting every place mentioned in the New Testament and most of the places of the Old Testament in twenty years of traveling in the Holy Land. I have also traveled extensively in Western and Eastern Europe. One of my joys is opening the world up to those traveling with me. The best way to go anywhere is still the same: in good company.
Becoming Ancestors focuses upon the situations of life and God’s provisions in every turn of our lives. My other writings focus upon the art of ministry and the art of living. Communication occurs in a multitude of ways, but I am still one who likes to hold the book in my hands and mark its pages.
It has been my joy over the years, as a pastor, to encourage and strengthen people who are going through the fire, to encourage and inspire people who have a dream or vision they want to pursue, and to encourage with Christ-like love those suffering a loss or ordeal in their life. The call I heard as a nineteen year old student has been “to love God’s people and to be His man.” I hope to continue being of service and help through the offerings of my website. I am glad you clicked on “Becoming Ancestors.” If you have other questions, I can be reached at edwincooper52@gmail.com
Sincerely becoming ancestors together,
Buddy
